Joy Story #14
Today let’s talk about friendships. Do you have a best friend? If not, I highly recommend it. I am #crazyblessed with an extremely-fun-loving-one-of-a-kind BFF! Of course, our friendship is like no other. We practically have a language of our own. BFF is too common an abbreviation for us. We have our very own code to describe ourselves – – – NFC! I could tell you what it stands for but then, girlfriends just don’t share some secrets. You probably wouldn’t get it!
My NFC friend, Princess Donna is…
that friend that makes you laugh about nothing!
that friend that you just do stupid things with and you’re not embarrassed!
that friend that talks you into signing up for a game called “Crazy Kitchen!”
that friend that remembers the good stuff and never mentions the bad stuff!
that friend that says, “If I get a red sucker, you get a red sucker!”
that friend that you never have to explain what you meant when you said it.
that friend that always finds something to compliment you on.
that friend that does her best to help you out on Fridays at the office.
that friend that cries with you and prays for you and your family.
that friend that feels safe enough to share her feelings.
that friend that always listens intently to what you have to say.
that friend that laughs at my jokes, even when I mess up the punch line.
that friend that sets me straight about those clichés.
that friend that takes time to explain to me what a cheeseburger is.
that friend that shares a love for chocolate on chocolate!
That friend that brings JOY to this girl!!!
Not all friendships last a life time. But if you work at it, you can grow old together. Our friendship goes back at least 21 years. We’ve have some moments that will never be forgotten. We spent years teaching preschoolers. It’s amazing that we had so much fun and the children still learned how to read before they went to kindergarten. We have truly been doing life together!
To enjoy life with a true friend: A man who has friends must himself be friendly. But there is a friend that sticks closer than a brother. Proverbs 18:24
Perfume and incense bring JOY to the heart and the pleasantness of a friend springs from their heartfelt advice. Proverbs 27:9
There are a few BFF’s that come to mind:
David and Jonathan (the Bible)
Anne and Diana (Anne of Greene Gables)
Jesus had a few close friends – Lazarus, Martha, Mary, his disciples
So go ahead and be friendly! The blessings await you!
Donna is my NFC and she’s irreplaceable! Good night Princess! See you tomorrow!
Living in HIS joy!
